CARRIE FRIEDMAN was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1977. Her childhood and teen years crawled by in a series of orthodontic nightmares and horrendous haircuts. She danced ballet semi-professionally for 13 years until she quit to pursue less-anorexic-y activities.

Like long distance running and exercise-bulemia.

She was recruited to Boston College for track, but quit the team after a semester in order to devote more time to smoking (read: the theater program). She graduated from BC with honors in English and several writing awards. After a summer at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and a job at a publishing firm in London, she moved out to sunny Los Angeles. For six years, she was an assistant to many brilliant TV writers and producers, all the while writing novels and screenplays. She's been nicotine-free for 8 years and once won as a contestant on TV's Family Feud.

When Carrie's not writing, she's infantilizing her beagle and referring to herself in the third person. She lives in Los Angeles with her amazing husband, two beyond-beloved babies, and the aforementioned hound.
